Split Heat Pump with 290 Gas Vs All in One Heat Pump
R290 Refrigerant is PROPANE AND EXTEMELY FLAMMABLE
- All-in-one has smaller volume of R134a refrigerant compared to Split System has larger volume of R290 Refrigerant, which is Propane and Extremely Flammable.
- Split Heat Pump has flexible hoses and snap connectors and likely to leak through joins, especially over the long lifetime of water heaters.
- All-in-one is simpler installation with only water and electrical connections (plumber and electrician).
- R290 Refrigerant Split system requires plumber and electrician plus someone with refrigeration qualification to ensure the refrigerant loop connections don’t leak but it is not guaranteed.
- All-in-one has smaller physical footprint so easier/quicker to install.
