Committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Operations and Compliance Officer to oversee our regulatory and compliance responsibilities and all operational and business activities.


Job Description:

The Chief Operations and Compliance Officer (COCO) plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of regulatory compliance, operational and business activities to ensure they meet agreed targets and are consistent with the overall strategic goals of the Cyanergy Group. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the COCO is responsible for ensuring that the organisation adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, codes of conduct and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & Business Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive regulatory and compliance program that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and ensures adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, codes and industry standards. Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.

People Management: Oversee the management of the Compliance Department and Operations Department. Lead and motivate the team to advance employee engagement and enhance our managerial team.

Operations Management: Oversee all operational and business activities to ensure they meet agreed targets and are consistent with the group’s overall strategic goals and mission. Analyse situations and opportunities and provide recommendations for company growth.

Strategic leadership: Provide strategic leadership and lead a culture that identifies opportunities for improving service delivery by fostering an environment of continuous improvement and increased capability that ensures the success of delivery of services.

Policies & Procedures: Develop and enforce company-wide policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and industry standards. Work closely with IT, to lead as the Subject Matter Expert in the design and development of an efficient, integrated and process driven system in CRM and Zoho.

Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current with changes in laws, regulations and standards that affect the company and proactively identify potential compliance risks.


Position Description

Training and Education: Conduct training programs for employees across the business particularly within the Operations and Compliance Departments, contractors and management to increase awareness of regulatory compliance requirements and best practices.

Compliance, Risk and Assurance: Continuously assess and evaluate the company’s risk profile, identifying and mitigating potential compliance risks. Lead internal investigations into compliance violations, report findings to relevant parties, and develop corrective action plans. Establish and maintain a regular internal and external auditing and monitoring process to ensure ongoing compliance across the organisation.

Vendor and Partner Compliance: Ensure that third-party relationships and partners comply with applicable laws, regulations and standards.

Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders regarding compliance matters. Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and act as a point of contact for important leaders.

Ethical Culture & Whistleblower Program: Promote a culture of ethical behavior and compliance throughout the organisation, leading by example and fostering a strong commitment to compliance among employees and contractors. Manage and maintain an effective whistleblower program to encourage the reporting of unethical or non-compliant behavior.

Management of accreditation, re-accreditation, relevant licences and certifications to operate legally: Manage any new accreditation or re- accreditation of all schemes or licences required to operate legally and including any standards such as ISO certifications.

Delivery forecast to meet budget: Work with the finance team to prepare a timeline to deliver all environmental certificate registrations on time to maintain cashflow as per budget forecasts. Make high-quality investing decisions to advance the business and increase profits. Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.


Key Selection Criteria:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (law, business, finance, accounting etc). A Master degree and/or similar postgraduate qualification is preferred. (Please attach the mark sheet and certificate of completion with application).

2. Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior regulatory and compliance role, preferably as a Chief Operations and Compliance Officer and/or similar position. Management of a Nationwide Operations Department would be advantageous.

3. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the company’s operations would be advantageous.

4. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

5. Familiarity with diverse business functions such as Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Legal/ Regulatory etc.


Additional job requirements:

The successful candidate must undertake a National Police records check and an Executive Assessment test prior to commencement..
