Snap Fitness

Overview

Snap Fitness Glen Waverley is a high-energy facility with substantial daily electricity demand. Like many gyms, a large portion of their energy is used for lighting, air conditioning, and equipment, leading to high monthly electricity bills. Snap Fitness sought a solution to reduce operational costs, improve sustainability, and increase energy independence.

Solution

Cyanergy designed and installed a 78.88 kW solar system tailored to Snap Fitness’s energy usage. The system includes 136 Longi solar panels and 2 Sungrow inverters, optimised for maximum self-consumption and efficiency. Professional installation followed Australian Standards to ensure long-term performance and reliability.

Results

The solar installation has delivered significant financial and environmental benefits for Snap Fitness Glen Waverley:

  • Monthly Savings: Approximately $1,735
  • Annual Savings: $20,820
  • Return on Investment (ROI): 2 years 7 months
  • Energy Independence: 27% of daily energy consumption is now met directly from solar
  • Sustainability: Reduction of 1,760 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over the system’s lifetime

Impact

By switching to solar, Snap Fitness Glen Waverley has reduced operational costs, increased energy reliability, and enhanced its sustainability credentials. This forward-thinking approach supports long-term financial and environmental goals while maintaining comfort and performance for members.

Why Gym Locations Should Consider Solar

Gyms typically have high energy consumption due to lighting, climate control, and equipment. Solar energy can:

  • Significantly reduce electricity bills
  • Provide predictable energy costs and faster ROI
